I can only tell you what I do. I inherited my wife's iphone 4.X. I'm not even sure what it is running. But I do update the software when I get notified.

There was one app in the past that required a newer operating system than I had. Didn't do it, since my phone could literally not do the upgrade to those requirements. It's pretty black and white to me. Upgrade when it's posted. Only use those app's that can work on my phone.

I have mighty big hands (take that Trump!) and with big hands come big fingers which makes it difficult to type on a small phone using the default keyboard. So, did a little search and found Big Buttons Keyboard which is exactly what I needed. Now typing is a breeze. I went with the basic version (i.e. free) and don't see the need to buy the app. Give it a try.

Hey Mac, I know that you access Penny Can on your phone from time to time. How do you do it personally? Do you just go to a browser and type in the site and navigate that way or do you have an icon on your homepage where you just tap it and it takes you directly to Penny Can? I'm actually looking for a way to create an icon associated with the forum so that I wouldn't have to open up a browser and type sh*t out. Looking for the quickest way by minimizing as many steps as possible.

I actually don't do it on my phone, because, well, it's very small and crappy.

I do use my iPad a lot. I think I somehow created an icon like app that opens up Penny Can. I would imagine I could do the same for my iPhone? Maybe this is an Apple platform thing?

Let me try to recall how I did that.

Edit add: I must have done this... http://ipadinsight.com/ipad-basics/how-to-add-a-website-to-your-ipad-home-screen/

Or something similar, because I have a number of icons on my screens I don't necessarily need, but somehow I have them.

Hey Mac, what WiFi Finder do you use on your phone and is it reliable in that the Hot Spots have been confirmed as safe?

Well, I'm pretty sure I had one at one time. Never really used, so I thought I removed it.

But went into the App Store and looked at my history. Nothing there. Now I'm wondering if I ever did download something.

Anyway, sorry I can't be of any help. Sure looks like a ton of them out there.

Yeah, there is just way too many to check personally. Most look like garbage and poorly constructed in spite of having a high rating.

Anyone have an Image Gallery App that allows for subfolders? The current default one I have on my smartphone doesn't do what I want. It's basically just all over the place inside the gallery. I'm one to keep things in order and I made subfolders in the root folder. But when I launch the gallery, it's a mess. Any suggestions?

So, I downloaded 5-6 different Image Gallery apps (I stuck with the highest rated ones and avoided the rest). What I found was the majority of them still wouldn't offer what I wanted out of a Gallery. But I did come up with a workaround solution, but it required using two different apps that have no connection to each other. The first app allowed for Renaming Folders (something no other app I've come across has. It's a feature that you would expect to be in every app. Seriously, how the f*ck is it that something as simple as Renaming doesn't exist?). So with QuickPic, I can do just that. But I don't like the interface. It's boring, dull and doesn't offer much else. The second app is Piktures. This app has everything I want in a Gallery App. Everything but the option to Rename (Ugh!).

So, I have to rename in the 1st app, but for whatever reason, it update's in the 2nd app. Go figure. The thing I really dig about Piktures is that I get to Set the Thumbnail for each folder. Also, it allows me to drag and move folders wherever I want in the List hierarchy, which was/is a must for me. I'm also able to hide folders so that if I want to shorten the list (so as to not have to scroll though a bunch of other folders, I can do that and save time). Another cool and useful function is that when you open any folder, you can change the grid settings which I haven't seen anywhere else. So, this is the best I've been able to find and even though I have to use two different apps, I now have what I want. Give them a try.

Favorite shopping apps may be fake
