Never heard of this guy... until now, but I am rather taken with his style. Recent winner and creator of Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar as a Mondo Mystery Movie

For those of you who collect or just want a new one sheet for your wall, Mondo, the collectible art boutique arm of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, is pleased to announce their new licensed poster series for Jurassic Park. The first breathtaking poster features imagery from the iconic final shot of a triumphant Tyrannosaurus Rex from artist Aaron Horkey.

Jurassic Park
Artist: Aaron Horkey
Size: 21" x 39"
Edition: 220

The poster & series was unveiled last evening at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar as a Mondo Mystery Movie, a popular programming series that keeps the film & poster a secret right up until the film rolls. Jurassic Park is the second Mondo Mystery Movie, which sold out in under a minute several weeks ago. The film was shown in a glorious 35mm print and was attended by legendary FX artist, Phil Tippett.

For a generation of moviegoers seeing Jurassic Park in theaters was a momentous event and one that engrained clear memories of seeing dinosaurs walk the Earth once again. "'Jurassic Park' is one of Mondo’s biggest series yet. Along with Star Wars and Star Trek, we’ve seen an equal level of excitement amongst artists to take on this seminal film. We’re incredibly excited about Aaron Horkey’s poster and what’s to come," said Mondo Creative Director Justin Ishmael.

The Jurassic Park poster series will continue with world-renowned artists rendering their vision of the classic film. A second print is scheduled to be available for online sale timed to the release of the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy on Blu-ray on October 25, 2011.

The Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy arrives on Blu-ray for the first time ever with the groundbreaking films remastered in flawless high definition and hours of bonus features, including an all-new, six-part documentary called Return to Jurassic Park.

Reminds me of Bill Stout. Actually, when I saw that first image with the dinosaur I thought it was a Bill Stout piece. Nice work.

Mike DeBalfo

This cat is one of my favorite artist on the scene right now. He is going to be huge in the very near future. Mark my words. And I intend to color his stuff professionally, even if he doesn't want me too.  ;D  Check out his Gallery on DA, there's plenty more stuff. Naked chicks too.

J. Scott Campbell's 2012 Fairy Tale Fantasies Calendar

Bah! Just when I think I have control over spending my money, along comes Campbell's new calendar.

Might as well buy it to add to my existing set.

Andrew Tarusov

Russian (visionary) artist Andrew Tarusov is taking on the American dream while destroying it simultaneously.

The artist has created his own calendar that's currently being printed for release later this year (they'll be $25 and can be pre-ordered here). The subject? How about super sexy pin-up girls surviving the apocalypse?!

The Apocalypse Tomorrow 2012 calendar was inspired by famed artist Gil Elvgren, an American painter of pin-up girls, advertising and illustration. He passed away way back in 1980

SCROJO

So the identity of Scrojo comes across as a mystery to me. I mean the site plays it coyly. While looking for a Joe Walsh poster I ran across this guys version which is one of the better I've seen. And I think I'll be purchasing it.

But look at this artists work... pretty cool and distinctive.

Looks good. I've never heard of him before, but just looking at some of his art, I would say a lot if not all is done inside Illustrator. I will free hand a sketch or design and then go into Illustrator for that same type of finishing style, which is all vector based.
