Justice League, Vol. 2: The Villain's Journey

I wasn't a fan of Volume One in large part because of
Geoff Johns weak attempt at trying to write like
Joss Whedon. Not sure if that's his niche given the fact that what I have read of
Johns, I have not liked at all and tend to skip most of the other things he does write. So, I went into
Justice League, Vol. 2: The Villain's Journey with the mindset that it was going to be more of the same. Well, I can say that Volume 2 is marginally better than the first output, but I still really don't care for his writing at all and the same can be said for the story. No need to bog you down with the plot other than that it was written and read as a potential blueprint for a Hollywood movie.
So, what about the art? The bulk of that falls on
Jim Lee. There were a couple of fill in issues handled by other artist and this freed
Jim to spend a little more time on his pages and give us better rendered pencils. The extra time spent on his stuff shows just how much he had to rush to get Issues 1-6 out the door. Volume Two just looks better all around. I just wish I could say the same about the writing. The book is really only for Jim Lee fanboys. Beyond that, I would
Skip this as there is nothing memorable about it.
