Looper is one of those movies you can instantly see all the influences on it, from film noir to Superman to Akira to Terminator.  Well made, but it does drag in the middle (a three-act structure problem, I think).

Just started "The Frighteners."  Don't even remember the lat time I saw this flick.

Frankenweenie

Overall I enjoyed Frankenweenie. Tim Burton's retelling of his original short with 50 more minutes. It's right in the middle there to entertain young'uns and parents will love the throwback to all the classic great horror movies, including Bambi vs. Godzilla.

It's cute with some frightening scenes. I think it gets over the top suddenly when all hell breaks lose in the town, but not a big deal. This has Tim Burton style all over it from the visuals, to sound to the music.

It is all in black and white and wonder how the younger generation will accept it. I guess they will not be to jaded like older folks.

Premium Rush

Premium Rush is not a great film, but just a fun fantastic film from beginning to end. Huh, two Joseph Gordon-Levitt movies in one weekend. With two very different characters. Premium Rush is a fresh kind of chase movie. The photography is excellent. The chase never repetitive and it has a bad guy like I've never seen before. Kinda stupid arrogant cop, but is causing a lot of problems for the delivery. Great pacing. Mostly action but with some moments to catch your breath and take in the ride. I can easily see this as a movie that anytime it's on, I'll check it out.

A definite rent... at the very least.

Never heard of it. Is it about Dopey laying out under the sun and getting burned?

It's a famous, long-running British sci-fi comedy series about the last human being alive.

A small sample:
