The Matrix

Trailer

It shouldn't be a surprise that The Matrix gets 10 Stars. I mean, it's one of the greatest Science Fiction / Action Adventure movies ever made. I can remember the day that I saw this when it first came out and being totally blown away by it. I literally had an out of body experience. It was just an amazing 2 hours that captivated me in so many ways. Everything from the Visuals. the music, the score, the stunts and the story being told floored me. But the thing that really wowed me was the Sound FX. It's one of the best ever and my Home Theater always gets a work out. Sonic  o r g y  for my ears!!

A very influential movie in a lot of ways. From the way the FX shots in this movie spawned a ton of copycats to making an impact on the fashion world to re-energizing Hong Kong Cinema. The Matrix definitely left it's mark that still being felt today. The seed was planted for something much bigger. So big, that the sequels were destined to fail.......

The Matrix is a must-own DVD. Kinda pointless to say Buy it when I know 98% of the population on the planet already owns it. So, this is for those 2% still on the fence about picking up a copy for themselves.

Every once in awhile a movie comes along that re-sets the bar. And in the case of The Matrx, it not only did it with a surprise upper cut, but a kick @ss roundhouse in visuals and story telling. We've never seen anything like this before and I've certainly never read anything like this. But then I live in a bubble. Beyond classic American and English sci-fi, I lived under a rock up to this point. I was not aware of other material from around the world. In particular Anime, from which the Brothers got their inspiration.

I loved all three films, but watching The Matric, was very much the same when I saw Star Wars. Truly a great movie going experience for me.
