American Flyers, directed by
John Badham is more than just a "Sports Movie". There's something a bit deeper than that when Two Brothers reunite and try to mend fences after the death of their father tore them apart. And what better way to reconnect than competing in the
Hell Of The West cycling tournament. But a dark secret that one of the brothers is carrying inside of him may tear them apart again. Beyond the awesome cycling footage that makes up the race, the movie is better remembered for an "unknown" actor by the name of
Kevin Costner as the older brother that spurs on his younger brother to race, played by David Grant.
Also in this one is a very young
Rae Dawn Chong, Jennifer Grey and
Alexandra Paul. This is a guilty pleasure movie for me. Whenever it's on TV, I can never turn it off and just watch it, even though I own the DVD. Worth a
Rent for sure. I'm not even a fan of Cycling per se, but I still enjoy the movie for what it is.
