Black Swan is definitely a movie you're going to love or you're going to hate. I really don't know what to think of this. First off, all the rave reviews I've heard about the film wasn't enough to make me rush out and see this and I kept putting off checking this out on DVD in spite of the
Oscar nominations and the win for
Natalie Portman for
Best Actress. Ballet is just not something I am interested in and no matter how stellar
Natalie Portman's acting is in it, it's still going to be an uphill climb for me in embracing the movie.
Let's just get it out of the way.....I don't love the movie, But I don't hate it either. I can and do admire what
Portman brought to her role and I commend what
Darren Aronofsky did visually with the script. But at the end of the day, it's a very hollow film for me and doesn't give me any satisfaction whatsoever when the final scene plays out. I say give it a
Rent if you are fans of either
Portman, Aronofsky or
Mila Kunis, other wise I would say this is a
Skip. It's something I know I will never watch again.
