The Rundown

Trailer

This is not one of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's better movies. I thought it was just okay the first time around when I saw this. It's even less impressive the 2nd time around. The opening was great with him laying the smackdown in the nightclub. After that, it's pretty hit and miss throughout the rest of the movie. There are a couple of good fight sequences, namely the one against Ernie Reyes, Jr. But that's not enough to anchor the pretty weak story, which is basically a cross between Bounty Hunter and Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

Seann William Scott was the weak link in this and Christopher Walken was on autopilot. I did like the small cameo from Arnold Schwarzenegger at the beginning which was symbolically a passing of the torch to what was hoped to be the new king of Action Blockbusters, The Rock. This is a Rent at best on a rainy day with nothing else to watch.

Gahhh, I love this movie exactly for the opposite of what you said. Dayum, I wish there was a sequel.

Ok, maybe that's going to far, but I love this flick.

Peter Berg, the Director has been trying to get a sequel made for years, but no one is willing to commit.
