I was very curious and anxious to see where they would take Boardwalk Empire this season, especially in the aftermath of what transpires at the end of Season 3. Some say that it jumped the shark by becoming too bloody and too explosive, which I always thought to be asinine as a reason not to like the season. I don't know if the creator of the series took it took it to heart about people complaining it was nothing like the first two seasons, but Season 4 does kind of go back to what the show was in a way. Kinda. This season really belongs to Chalky White. He had a minor role to play and got bumped up somewhat last season. But this season it's all about him and I kinda dug it for that very reason. It was a nice change of pace that gave what I always thought to be a very interesting character all along. But I'm sure some people will nitpick and complain that the increased screen time came at the expense of cutting down Nucky's time. He did seem like a minor character in his own show. Great additions to the cast include Jeffrey Wright, Brian Geraghty, Ron Livingston and Patricia Arquette. Definitely worth a Rent.
