Breaking Bad Marathon continues.....

Can't wait to sink my teeth into this season. We got a taste of Gus and Mike last season. But now we are in for a roller-coaster ride.

Kinda a trip seeing Jolene Purdy in the episode titled Green Light. The most recent thing I saw her in was Under The Dome. But when I was watching Season 1 of that series, I couldn't place where I had seen her before....until now. It was a bonus that she played her scene opposite Dean Norris. It was kind of a retroactive Under The Dome reunion if you will.  ;D

Before embarking on my current Breaking Bad marathon, there were a handful of episodes that I was looking forward to as they are some of the best ever for the series and near the top of my list is 'One Minute', It's still a powerhouse episode with some amazing performances by Jesse (Aaron Paul) and his meltdown in telling Walt 'No' to his job offer. But it's the shootout between Hank and the Brothers that still ranks as one of the greatest moments for Breaking Bad. One thing that I never noticed until now was that the bullet that Hank uses for the kill shot was the same bullet that the Gun Runner gave to one of the Brothers 'on the house'. Why I didn't pick up on that the first time around is a mystery, because now it's so obvious it's the same bullet and they set it up perfectly for the viewer. They couldn't have highlighted the fact more.

Really enjoying my BB marathon and one of the reasons has to do with everyone's character arc. We all know about Walter and Jesse and how they change over the course of the series, but the one that I'm most enthralled with right now has to do with Skyler. The sea change that she goes through is actually the most dramatic of all the characters because it's from one extreme to the next while Walt and Jesse are more subtle after their initial change. With Skyler, she goes from being this naive housewife and mother to complete denial about what Walt does to acceptance and then becomes the rock for their money laundering business with the Car Wash. Each stage that she goes through is compelling and makes her character all the more richer because of it. Anna Gunn deserves more recognition for her role. She is amazing and another reason why Breaking Bad is what it is.
