Cake is the movie I have been waiting for Jennifer Aniston to do since the final episode of Friends aired. Her performance is incredible, gut wrenching, sad and electrifying at times. I was able to relate to her anguish when I wrecked my back and had the same issues of trying, and never succeeding at getting a good night sleep. But her character is also emotionally broken due to her tragic moment that took her son from her. It's this very reason why I think the movie will be hard to watch for most people. But Jen's portrayal kept me glued to the screen. I really hope she does more films that showcase her acting chops. Please stay away from the "girl next door" roles. Highly recommend Cake just for her performance.
