So, for the past year or so, I've heard nothing but good things about John Dies at the End. So naturally I was pumped to see this and find out for myself what all the buzz was about. I am at a complete loss for words. I can't believe for one second that the population at large actually thinks this is a good movie. I just did not like it at all. This movie really didn't get a theatrical run did it? While watching it, beyond the plot and story, it looked and feels like a Direct-To-DVD release. The effects were cheap. But the story is where it failed me. It's just stupid and it doesn't really make sense other than some 'dark evil force is able to cross over from a parallel universe into our own'. At it's heart the movie is a cross between a Supernatural Thriller and a Horror film with Comedy slathered all over it. The problem is, I didn't think it was funny at all. Not even a little bit. This was a waste of my time. Skip this.

Can't believe that Paul Giamatti and Clancy Brown would associate themselves with this. The best part of the movie was the opening sequence because it looked interesting and had me thinking it was going to be more Fargo than what we actually end up with. Along with the nonsensical story, I had to sit through some bad acting from the two lead actors. Ugh.
