Charlie's Angels - Special Edition

Trailer

I have not watched Charlie's Angels in years. I honestly don't even know why I bought this one (as well as Full Throttle) on DVD. This movie was never that great in the theater for me. I'm not sure if it was ever a 4 star movie for me as well. The movie really doesn't have a compelling plot to sink your teeth into. It's more about how many sight gags they can put Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu into and pass it off as "story".

I think another thing that irritated me then as well as now is reliance of the Bullet Time FX as seen in The Matrix. Charlie's Angels is clearly a product of its time as a lot of movies are during this time in movie making when every director thought it was their birthright to use the FX.

Everytime I watch this movie it gets weaker and lamer. The only thing I really like here is Cameron Diaz character because she seemed to be having the most fun on set. And it doesn't hurt that she can dance like a  m o t h e r f u c k e r  either. Very hot. Drew has her moments as well. But I can't in good conscious rate any movie higher than 3 Stars that would have Tom Green in it.

The movie is worth a Rent if your looking for campy fun that doesn't take itself too seriously, unlike Charlie's Angels (2011) which went in the oppostite direction as a crime drama, which by the way I actually liked.

I like camp... Sometimes. Charlie's Angels is loaded with silliness, asking the audience to like it because of the show and of course the beautiful women. I'll watch it if it came on... I'd never begin to think about purchasing it.
