Why the hell am I watching
Cop Out? Go
here for your answer. As for the movie itself, it's every bit as bad as I knew it would be, but slightly better than what I had envisioned in my head prior to watching this. That still doesn't help the flick though. It's just not very good and is riddled with Buddy-Cop cliches. So many in fact that it becomes a drinking game in that you try to guess what cliche is just around the corner.
The movie gets one star for watching it all the way through and one star for the opening gag with
Tracy Morgan's "homage" during the interrogation scene in which he rattles off catch phrase after catch phrase from famous Movies and TV shows, culminating with Yippee ki-yay, motherf*cker! This was the funniest thing in the entire movie. It's all downhill from there. Definitely
Skip this movie and don't let
Kevin Smith trick you into doing so.
Bruce Willis has seen better days. Hopefully he learns from this and tries harder in his film choices from here on out. Even
Rashida Jones and
Jason Lee, both who I had no idea were in this, can't save
Cop Out either, through no fault of their own.
