I honestly don't even remember putting in a request for Dark Skies. My guess is that somebody (Mac) planted the seed in my head that I should see it for myself. By the time I put the DVD in, I didn't even know what the movie was about because I didn't even bother to look at the DVD cover or read the back, All I did was pick it up from the library and head on home. Once the movie started, I became very frustrated at how long the set up was taking. But after the first 'scare' moment, the movie began to pick up steam, building up the intensity somewhat. It was never over the top, but the impending doom it was creating was starting to get a bit nerve wracking and for that, it succeeded.

Unfortunately I think the end just kind of collapsed on itself because the end for me just didn't deliver at all. I already suspected that the oldest son was in fact the first one visited by the Greys. I just didn't like the way the movie ended. Yes, he is still out there....but where? I highly doubt we are going to get a sequel to give me (us) answers and that's why I'm just not feeling it in the way they chose to end it. Still worth a Rent for a couple of 'jump out of your seat' scares and that's saying a lot since I'm jaded and nothing really does that for me. Also, Keri Russell in this one and that should be reason for you to check it out.

It wasn't bad. As you said, it took some time to get going.

I thought I heard there was a sequel in the works.
