Well, to be fair, I benefit from the notes: learning what makes a movie work and what doesn't helps me plan out my own stories.  Dissecting why something doesn't work really helps because I try to figure out how it could, it gives me things to play with. 

What sucks is that I heard the second one is better but I can't trust that.  The only way I'd give it my time is if I knew I could get more cool parts out of it.
