Domino (2005)
« on: June 17, 2012, 10:40:27 pm »

Take the worst part visually from say Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers, multiply it by 1,000, add an incoherent plot with zero likable characters and you have Domino. I knew this was going to be a  s h i t t y  movie within the first 5 minutes based on the horrible narration by Keira Knightley. For a movie that had a lot of star wattage in the cast, this came off as Domino would say....a complete cluster  f u c k .

I've been meaning to check this movie out since the day it came out and even over the years with all the negative reviews it received, I was still intent to watch it and make up my own mind. Boy, did the public get it right with this pile of  s h i t . I'm a fan of most of Tony Scott's films, but I just can't understand why he would chose to film it like this as if he were trying to cater to the MTV generation. The aesthetic is horrible and the editing came off like a kid that got his hands on Final Cut Pro for the first time and just made edits because he could.

I did find the casting of Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green playing themselves a bit surprising. I had no idea they were even in the film. They did provide some comic relief, albeit unintentional of course. Other than that, there really is nothing worth the time you will spend watching this. Also, this is the third film that Tony Scott goes to the well when it comes to the Mexican Standoff ending. The other being Enemy Of The State and True Romance.

The most interesting part of the entire movie was the final scene when the real Domino Harvey appears on screen. I knew beforehand that she OD before the movie was released so this still had the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I saw it. As bad as the movie is, it does make me want to learn more about the person, rather than the 'character' of a horrible film.

This is a definite Skip!!

Enough said. Couldn't stand it for this point alone.

I knew 100% that you'd hate this movie just as much as I did if not more.
