Edward Scissorhands is a modern-day Frankenstein through the eyes of Tim Burton. I have always said that this is Burton's best film and I still stand behind it. The art direction for the film is phenomneal and he created a character that was truly original and iconic. But it's not until Johnny Depp's interpretation of the character does it become something beyond special. He says very little in the film, but his pantomime speaks volumes. I'm glad that he got the part and not Tom Cruise. It just would have turned out to be a completely different film with him in the role. Depp owned the film and made his transition from TV (21 Jumpstreet) to Film complete.

This is a great movie and I highly recommend this as a Buy. I have the 10th Anniversary Edition, so I am sure they have released a couple of different versions since then. With Depp in the lead and a stellar cast including Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Michael Hall, Kathy Baker, Vincent Price, and Alan Arkin, you just can't go wrong with this movie at all. Props to Stan Winston  and Danny Elfman as well.
