Just like I failed to get through the live airing of Downton Abbey this season, I too couldn't get past the first episode due to the thick British accents of the actors. Always knew that I would revisit Turn on DVD as I am a huge history buff, especially that of the American Revolutionary War. I'm really glad that I came back to this series because it's f*cking great, if not perfect. For starters, it looks amazing and all the players in their respective roles are cast perfectly. I'm not sure how much of the series is based on fact and how much is created for TV. But in either case, there is enough deception going on to keep you guessing. Also good are the two leads cast as the lame duck Major Richard Hewlett and the evil John Graves Simcoe. You want to kill one more than the other, but they both deserve to get a bayonet equally. Definitely worth checking out of you like The Patriot, which this would make a great companion piece. One thing I gotta point out is that I think the series would definitely benefit if it were on HBO or Showtime to emphasize the violence which is pretty light on AMC. Also, there are too many scenes that hint at sex or nudity, which draw attention to itself for not showing what otherwise wouldn't get a second though on a premium channel.

Now I get to jump into the first episode of Season 2 On Demand. I like not having to wait a long time to see how they pick it up from the Season Finale.
