Falling Skies (Season 3)

Even though I'm giving Season 3 a rating of 4 Stars (comparable to that of the first two seasons), this season is by far the best of the bunch. There are still editing issues I have with the series. Really not sure why they are having problems telling a concise story. There is no need to rush and cutaway in key moments. Granted, the problems are few and far between compared to the first two seasons, but it's still noticable when they occur from time to time here. There are some clunkers when it comes to dialogue, which is awful at times. Still better than before for sure. As before, it all comes down to story and I'm a sucker for Alien Invasions and what the human race does to defend itself. I like that Season 3 picks up 7 months after the events of Season 2 as we are now introduced to a partnership between Tom (and the rest of the human race) and the Volm who are 'sworn protectors'. Obviously there is a major betrayal at the end. Predictable as it's the only way to sustain the series. Conchise is a very interesting and cool alien character, who speaks perfect English. Go figure. The introduction of Tom and Anne's Human/Alien hybrid love child Alexis is a nice and much needed addition to the show. Having it that she is aging rapidly makes it even more intriguing. Definitely worth a Rent. One last thing, while watching the first 3 seasons, in the back of my mind I know that one of the main characters of the series HAS to perish, to save the Human Race. There are a handful to choose from. My money is on Dan Weaver.......or Margaret (Maggie).
