I stumbled across Faster the other day at the Library. I had totally forgotten about this movie's existence until it was just there for me to take. Furthermore, I thought this was within the last couple of years when it came out. Very surprised to see that Faster is already 5 years old. As for the movies plot, this is about as basic as you can get with Dwayne Johnson's character literally being released from a 10 year stretch in prison and going on a revenge-fueled rampage and taking down those that did him wrong. It's a by-the-numbers walk-through of pretty much any other revenge thriller you've seen before. The one thing that was somewhat interesting is that we slowly learn about the crew, one by one, and what their relationship is to Dwayne's character. The downfall for what was a decent flick is the 3rd act, especially the "big reveal" at the end as to who was calling the shots. I for one had the entire movie figured out just based on the action of one character at the start. It was subtle, but I knew what I was looking for and saw it immediately. I'm 100% positive you guys would pick up on the same clue. So I always knew who it was, but that's not the problem here. As I said, the movie is basic and that includes how they wrap up the story. A little too fast and clean for my taste. Worth a Rent if there is nothing else to watch.
