I love the 'Body Switching' genre with the likes of the
Original Freaky Friday, Like Father Like Son, Face/Off, Big and
13 Going On 30 just to name a few. I was and still am a huge fan of the original
Freaky Friday with
Jodie Foster, so you can imagine how raw the nerve was when I heard that they were remaking this with
Lindsay Lohan and refused to see it when it hit the theaters. But when it first came out on DVD and with nothing else on the rack that interested me, I decided 'what the hell' and just went with it. To say that I was shocked at actually liking the movie was an understatement to say the least. Since then, I have watched this a handful of times and still love it.
What's not to love about this one? It's frickin' awesome.
Lohan is great throughout taking on the role of her 'Mother'. But it's
Jamie Lee Curtis that steals the movie. That is nothing but joy watching her transform into a Teenager and all that comes with it. She was clearly having a ball playing this role and it comes through loud and clear on the silver screen. The entire cast works extremely well together, with
Mark Harmon, Harold Gould, Chad Michael Murray, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ryan Malgarini and
Christina Vidal joining in on the fun. And that's the perfect word to describe this movie.....FUN!
I highly recommend this as a
Buy. Great family film and it's a bonus that I love the song that
Pink Slip plays during the
'Battle of the Bands' which by the way plays out fantastic. Go check this one out now!!!
Curtis and
Lohan for the win!!
