go - Special Edition

Trailer

go is often called the 'junior Pulp Fiction' when trying best to explain what type of movie this is. Although it gives you an idea of how it's structured, using that fractured story telling I like to call it, it's nothing like that of Pulp Fiction at all. Sure, they both deal with drug deals gone bad, being chased by bad guys, etc...But personally, watching one, really doesn't make me think of the other.

I for one love go in its simplicity of characters and story. I think it's a good little movie. In a nutshell, go has 3 seoarate stories that overlap each other in some way where they all come together at the end. I'm really at a loss for words when I hear other people complain that they can't follow the story or that it's too confusing. Really? How is this confusing? Anyway, great cast that includes a lot of well known faces and names: Katie Holmes, Sarah Polly, Jay Mohr, Scott Wolf, Timothy Olyphant, Taye Diggs, William Fichtner and Breckin Meyer.

I own this on DVD already. But unless you're a fan of that fractured story telling or Tarantino in general, I'd say at least give this a Rent. Love the soundtrack. In the Soundtrack & Musical Scores thread I talk about how a great movie going experience can compel me to go and buy the soundtrack. I did exactly that after seeing go.

Never heard of it.

Look, I have found it doesn't take much to confuse people while watching a film. I saw a recent article talking about how the summer movies, some, are really dumb, or non-thinking movies. The more involved come later in the fall. I do get what they are suggesting. But with a sweeping statement that is unfair.

I'm actually shocked that you've never heard about the movie. I for one would have bet top dollar that you did. You shouldn't definitely check it out from the Library.
