Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)

Having watched Hitman a while back, I was somewhat looking forward to seeing what Rupert Friend would do with the character in Hitman: Agent 47 and more importantly, it would be a big step up as a film. Well......that didn't happen. The movie just serves to exist in the now. It's neither memorable or forgettable. It just....is. What I thought would be a plus was Rupert, but just like Timothy Olyphant was in the previous film, Rupert brought too much baggage to the role. Never could I picture Rupert as Agent 47 at any time. All I kept seeing in my head was Peter Quinn in Homeland. Also, I just didn't think Rupert was right physically for Agent 47. He's too skinny whereas 47 is more badass looking. He needs to be imposing which Rupert nor Timothy are. With that said, I did like some of the set pieces, much in the same way I did in the other Hitman flick. It's more a check-you-brain-at-the-door movie. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed......too much. The story, although weak, it was interesting with Agent 47 finding and then training his sister in the same profession he is in. Worth a Rent on a rainy day.

I can't imagine the first Hitman movie making anyone remotely eager for anything else Hitman-related.

Not sure if I saw the first. This one was all about style.
