Horrible Bosses

Trailer

I originally picked up Horrible Bosses as part of my Jennifer Aniston mini-marathon to go along with Office Space. I did see about adding Swimming With Sharks into the mix given that it touches on having to deal with one sh*tty boss. Sadly, none of my branches even carries a copy of the movie. What the f*ck! Anyway, getting back to Horrible Bosses, I don't know what the public's reaction is to it, but I found this to be very funny. Yes, it does get a bit juvenile at times, especially when the characters played by Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis go on their recon missions in order to dig up intel on their bosses with the idea of killing them. During these scenes, it's pretty much a Three Stooges send up. The sight gags and jokes for me were very funny indeed and I found myself laughing out loud a few times throughout the movie, which I absolutely was not expecting.

The bosses are played by Aniston, Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell. Of the 3, Spacey's role was the most realistic, one that even one can relate to in wanted to kill. Aniston and Farrell's roles were the most extreme and exaggerated for comedic effect more than anything. I don't think anyone has really been in a situation where they were kick Aniston out of an office with her sexual harassment scenario's. Man, if you had a boss that looked like Aniston and did the things she does, that would be a wet dream for anyone, regardless if you were single or married. Anyway, I liked her spin on the character and is definitely outside the box of what she normally plays on screen. Ferrell on the other hand is just way out there, which made his portrayal even funnier.

This is a straight up comedy that does go for the lowest common denominator at times when fishing for laughs. But it still delivers. I highly recommend this as a Rent if you're in need of a pick me up for laughs. I'd definitely would and will watch this again in the future. If that's not enough to entice you, Jennifer alone is worth it. So Hawt!! Awesome cameo by Jamie Foxx as 'M o t h e r f u c k e r   Dean' and there's also Donald Sutherland and Bob Newhart as well.

I rather enjoyed Horrible Bosses. It does balance between the absurd and real in a very funny way.

Highly recommend at least checking it out.

I made a mistake on my Star rating. Was meant to reflect 4 1/2 Stars out of 5.

Don't forget that Donald Sutherland is in it, and Julie Bowen plays a cheating wife, which I'm all for.
