From the creative team that brought you Shaun of the Dead comes Hot Fuzz, a send up of the Buddy Cop genre times a thousand. Once again, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost team up to create a unique friendship that is more Odd Couple than anything else. Hot Fuzz takes all the best things about the Buddy Cop formula and spins it on it's head. And be sure to look out for the inside-jokes, which really makes the movie even more enjoyable. This film is the 2nd in the Edgar Wright & Simon Pegg's planned Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, with Shaun Of The Dead being the first. So far, the team is 2 for 2. I look forward to the 3rd film with much anticipation as I know it's not gonna suck.

I have to commend Edgar Wright's direction which brings a highly stylized, kinetic and frenzied look to the movie's editing which only serves to highlite the tension of the story taking place. I'm all for this type of editing, which clearly takes it's cue from music videos. It works here. He is definitely not from the old school of Hollywood Directors.

Shoutout goes to Timothy Dalton, who more or less steals every scene he is in, with the best coming at the end....

...when he gets impaled through the jaw, leaving the viewer to think he is a goner, only to have him whimpering and begging for ice cream. It's one of the funniest sight gags you will ever come across.

This is definitely a Buy. You won't find a better and funnier Buddy Cop movie out there with one hilarious supporting cast of actors and actresses to boot. Olivia Colman as Doris Thatcher is a riot. She made me laugh every single time.

...I do remember finding the feel of the movie change. The beginning is light and humorous and the 2nd half gets dark. Almost like two different directors. Nonetheless a fun movie to sit through...

I think this is the intent of both Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg. I brought this up in Shaun Of The Dead in that it too went from lighthearted to very dark. My guess is they are trying to get you to think one way and then hit you over the head with another so that "we never see it coming". I prefer these little twist because how many times have you said to yourself "I saw that coming a mile away" only to be right. In both Shaun and Fuzz, I never did see it coming which made both movies better in my eyes.
