Trailer

Wow! Has it been 3 years since Jurassic World? It seems like the first one just came out and here we are again with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I had a lot of issues with JW and really wasn't interested in see JWFK at all. I knew eventually I would get around to it, but it wasn't on my 'Must-See' list. So, how was JWFK? Meh. I have this one below that of what I thought was a pretty average and underwhelming flick. This one, just like JW, takes a big chunk of the plot of The Lost World: Jurassic Park by making it all about Hunters looking to poach a certain number or species of Dino's from Isla Nublar  as a volcano is about to decimate the Island and getting them to the Mainland. Yes, JWFK has a fresh coat of paint, but it's still the same movie as before.

In all honesty, there really isn't much else to do with the franchise. That is until we get to the end of the movie that is. Before I talk about that, everything that leads there was as I said, 'meh'. There is still NO CHEMISTRY between Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. They really need to stop trying to make this a "Love story". It's never going to work. But that really isn't the problem with both movies. A lot of set pieces with cardboard characters that I have no connection with at all. With that said, there was one twist that I didn't see coming and was kind of interesting in it's own right with the revelation that Maisie is a human clone. I should have seen it coming.....but I didn't. Now, as I mentioned earlier, there isn't much they can do with the franchise right? Well, the ending, with the release of the surviving Dino's, being unleashed out into the World, this does set up what JW3 is most likely going to be: Human's and Dino's "co-existing". With everything thus far being contained to an Island, this does open up possibilities moving forward and finally gives the name Jurassic World its true meaning. As for this, I can't really recommend this as a Rent. Maybe on a rainy day and there is nothing else to check out, then maybe.

One last thing, I totally forgot about
Jeff Goldblum being in the Trailer and when he pops up at the beginning of the movie, I was pumped to see him return to the Island again. Doesn't happen. He has a cameo at the start and at the end of the flick. So, that turned into a big disappointment for me. But it was cool to see B. D. Wong return. I'm sure he will definitely return in JW3 as he will most likely be tasked to created Dino killers to combat the current breed of Dino's roaming the Earth.
