Awesome episode that requires the viewer to pay attention to get the meaning of the payoff. With Daniel Faraday back on the Island, he sets a course to change the perceived outcome of the future. His goal is to set off the Hydrogen Bomb that he had the 'Others' bury on the Island. But first he has to find his Mother. Elsewhere, Faraday's mother convinces her son to take up Charles Windmore's offer to go to the Island, but she is distraught about it. Why? Well, back in 1977 she shoots and kills him. You see, she knew what she would end up doing, and he figures out as his light dims that she would do it. Pretty heady stuff and something I never saw coming the first time around when watching this one. Also, it's revealed that Charles is his father.
