Hitman (2007)
« on: October 26, 2015, 04:55:50 pm »

I'm a fan of both Timothy Olyphant and the game itself, but I never really cared to check this movie out because most, if not all video game to movie transitions suck. Plus, I had heard my fair share of negative responses to Hitman and it just made this something I'd never want to see. That is until I caught the trailer for the 2015 Reboot with Ruppert Friend. Since I wanted to see that one, I figured I might as well knock the 2007 film off my list. I'm giving this version a very generous 3 Star rating in spite of some serious flaws. For one, the plot is all over the map. Two, Hitman speaks way too much in the movie, which he doesn't do a whole lot of in the games and three and possibly my biggest gripe with the movie is using scenes from the TV Series Dark Angel and using that as Agent 47 origin story. Seriously, what the f*ck is that all about? Who at FOX Studio thought this was a good idea? Did they really think they could sneak that by the fans? Incredibly misguided on their part. With that said, I did enjoy the set pieces for Olyphant  to play with and the creative ways he got his marks. Worth a Rent if you want mindless action with lots of violence. Just don't expect much beyond that. Olga Kurylenko is very easy on the eyes. Yowzza. I'm still scratching my head how and why they would use Dark Angel footage in this. WTF!

I totally forgot about the Dark Angel scenes!  But I forgot just about everything about this flick, didn't care for it, not the biggest fan of Tim Olyphantastic (plus bald, he looks like a frog... doesn't really look right for "Hitman").  Even the gorgeous Olga didn't look that good in this flick, if I recall right.  Too gross.
