We'll be so lucky if the new Star Wars looks like the Krypton scenes.  Having said that, the whole time I kept thinking "Superman doesn't exist yet, so these scenes DON'T HAVE TO BE IN THE MOVIE!"  For god's sakes!

And can I say how much I hate how dour this movie was?  Not just in terms of the bleak outlook, they sapped that world of colour and of flavour, it was all gray and just... ugh.  That annoys me normally in movies and it's so out of place in a movie about Superman.

Did you notice that Jimmy Olsen is a girl in this movie?  Me either.  What an interesting way to change up a character, and no one noticed.

And here's the thing I hate I hate I HATE that movies do these days, and this one is so gut-wrenchingly guilty of doing: the whole thing wraps up, basically promising that the NEXT movie will be the "Superman" we know, aka, the Superman we thought we were paying for when we came in to see THIS god-d*mn movie.  And of course, the NEXT Superman isn't the next Superman, it's a dry run for the Justice League.  F*** that.
