Man on a Ledge

Trailer

There are two ways to do a Heist Flick. One is to show the setup as well as the motivation for breaking in and stealing whatever the MacGuffin may be. The other way is to basically start the Heist from the get go and slowly reveal over the course of the movie what the motivation is. Ocean's Eleven is the former and Inside Man is the later. Man on a Ledge also falls in with the later as well. But unlike Inside Man, it was very frustrating waiting for information about Nick's (Sam Worthington) motivation. They don't reveal enough info and whatever we do get, it's far and few between each bread crumb.

Once we do get enough pieces of the puzzle, the movie suddenly feels a whole lot like The Negotiator. To be fair, I actually thought of the connection right from start when the Nick specifically asked for Lydia (Elizabeth Banks) as his own negotiator. I think what ultimately makes Ledge an average film is that the heist itself wasn't overly impressive as well as the main story feeling like it was thrown together in the writing stages. Decent flick for what it is. This isn't anything more than a Rent. I'm kinda p*ssed that this was the end result of the movie. I originally decided to put myself in line to check this out based on the trailer. It literally too 3 months waiting in line before I got my turn in the rotation at the Library. This should have been so much better. I had high hopes for this. Sigh.

Man on a Ledge DVD Screencaps

Naw. Well, maybe a cap or two of Génesis Rodríguez changing into her "work clothes". Yowzza!

Never heard of Genesis Rodriguez, interesting name, so yes, definitely throw some caps up on here!

You know, I think the thing I've seen Sam Worthington (or "Wellington" as I call him because my sister accidentally called him that) more than anything else is that Modern Warfare commercial he did with Jonah Hill.

It came out right after I'd been to Universal Studios so I had just been in that warzone they fight in.  The "skyscraper" in "Germany" was the giveaway.
