The smartest thing Tom Cruise ever did professionally was bring in the talents of J.J. Abrams to Write and Direct MI3. We finally get a true Action Adventure the series has been begging for since its inception. With Abrams on board, he was able to do what the first two films could not do, and that was give us an entertaining, two-hour thrill ride. This delivers in spades. If you are a fan of Abrams series Alias, you will see some familiar faces as well as his directing style.

I absolutely love this movie and with Tom leading the charge, we finally get a Villain that doesn't suck. Philip Seymour Hoffman was fantastic as Owen Davian. Next time I watch Magnolia, it's gonna feel different. Along for the ride is Ving Rhames as well as newcomers Maggie Q, Billy Crudup, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Simon Pegg and Laurence Fishburne. With a stellar cast, all that was left was to come up with spectacular Set Pieces and there are plenty of them here. One after the other. Loved the ending.

This is definitely a Buy and one that I look forward to adding to my personal DVD Collection.

I always felt alone in not liking the first MIssion Impossible... this movie should have been the first.  And luckily... and somewhat strangely... it works as a "first movie" too, I don't think I was missing any important information in this movie, and it's a movie where they kept lots of stuff secret.

I wasn't a big fan of MI the first time around. I only gave it a slight bump recently, but it's still a very average movie. As for MI III, it definitely doesn't require you to have seen either of the first two films to follow along. There is actually nothing tying any of the first 3 movies together with the exception of the working relationship between Nathan and Luther, and that's stretching it a bit as that isn't a vital requirement either.
