A lot has been said about Män som hatar kvinnor being far superior to the remake with Craig Daniel. I wouldn't know. I have yet to see the US version. But as far as this movie goes, it really is a good 2 1/2 hours. But it's not perfect as everyone would have you believe. But it comes damn close. First off, Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth is mesmerizing. You just can't take your eyes off of her whenever she is on screen and even though I have yet to see the new one, part of me wishes she was in the remake. That's how cool she is.

As for the story itself, it's really hard to get anything original, especially in a movie as they all tend to riff off the same formula and this one is no exception. The movie may have been filmed in Sweden, but this has all the traits of a Hollywood production. Now I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. But I can say that the movie looks and feels like a movie out of Tinsel Town, just with actors that you have never heard of before.

I won't go into great detail about the plot so as not to spoil it for anyone yet to see it. But I did hear that the film version is drastically different from the book it's based on. I never read the book so this really doesn't affect me one way or another. But I am looking forward to checking out the new version of the film to see if they change anything up from the original to give those that already know the story, something new...a different twist

My only gripe with the movie is the ending......all 3 of them. It was like watching Lord Of The Rings with all its false endings. But this is definitely worth a Rent.
