Holy carp, JETMAN is coming out on DVD in the US.  Jetman!


Okay, so for the last few years, Shout! Factory has been releasing not just Power Rangers on DVD, but also the original Japanese series the footage was taken from.  I remember getting horrible quality VHS copies 20 years ago, without translations (just GUESS what they're saying!), and there was a small market for them, but apparently the sentai releases made money because they keep putting them out.

But Jetman is different.  They didn't use this footage, it came out right before the series they did use.  This is the first time they've released a series that wasn't adapted, so if this proves as financially viable as the rest of the releases, hopefully that will mean even more releases.  Maybe not just earlier sentai, but maybe even Metal Heroes, Space Sheriffs, Kamen Rider... this could be another floodgate opening up.  VERy excited.  Will definitely be pre-ordering this.

Shout! Factory is still going strong, heck, they have a sub-brand dedicated to horror now... heck, I think they own GKids, which just got the licensing rights to the Miyazaki flicks.
