I know that both
Mac and
Neumatic have a more positive outlook on
Noah, but sorry guys, I think this was a bad movie for the obvious reasons. I love Biblical stories and want to see them get the Hollywood treatment with current gen Special FX which was the very thing I was excited for upon hearing this was being made. What I don't want to see is a Director that thinks that just because he has a
Best Picture Oscar under his belt that he can suddenly mess with a story that has been told for thousands of years and dumb it down for the sole purpose of appealing to a certain demographic that doesn't know anything beyond
Lord of the Rings and
The Transformers. I was and still am utterly confused by what I just watched. I want THE story to be told with the respect it deserves.
As bad as the movie is, I still have to give both
Russell Crowe and
Jennifer Connelly props as it's their acting that makes it worth sitting through to the end in spite of a farce of a story. I will not ever recommend this to anyone. Ever. Just supremely disappointed in what this movie turned out to be. Since watching this, I did do a littler research to see what the masses thought of the film and even more shocking than the film is that most people really liked it. Well, to each their own I guess. Just not for me.
