My Jodie Foster marathon continues with Maverick, one of my favorite Westerns. It's a brilliant marriage of Action, Comedy and Western all rolled up into one fantastic movie. I have found that a lot of my friends that really aren't into the Western Genre just can't help but love this movie and that is in large part because of the cast of characters that include Mel Gibson, James Garner, Jodie Foster, Graham Greene and Alfred Molina. It's just a fun movie to watch and the story itself is pretty good for just being all about a Poker game.

With this movie being directed by Richard Donner, you absolutely know that he will bring in actors from other movies that he has worked with over the years. Even though I never heard of any such cameo prior to seeing the movie in the theater, I did expect to see Danny Glover and the payoff is exactly how I had imagined it to be. Still one of my all time favorite cameos in any movie. Also making a cameo is Margot Kidder, as well as Steve Kahan and Corey Feldman.

For me this is a Buy, but for you casual movie goers, definitely worth a Rent.
