Literally for Outlander, just put an alien crash-landing on Earth, then have him act of Beowulf, you have the movie.

I think the movie was a European flick that the Weinsteins just distributed.  In fact, I think when they put this out on DVD you could only rent it at Blockbuster, which I'm sure was a BIG money-making move for them.  ESPECIALLY since no one even had a CHANCE to see it at the theater and were DYING to see it again and show it to their friends.

And by the way, the whole time this incredibly ill-advised exclusivity deal was going on, I don't recall seeing ANY kind of marketing push that was trying to convince people these awesome movies could only be found in one place and you gotta go now.  None of that.  I've seen more marketing for Orange Is The New Black on TV and I barely ever turn ON the TV!
