I totally dug
Season 1 of
Scandal and gave it
5 Stars. But it can' hold a candle to what plays out in
Season 2. This season was incredible and insanely addictive. I didn't think it was possible, but I just knocked out all 22 episodes in 4 days. It's THAT f*cking good. This season in a way morphed into something bigger and grander than what we got in the first season. Looking back on it, it was only scratching the surface but in this season it was one giant chess game of political maneuvering, backstabbing and betrayal. It was kinda like watching
24 in a way. At the surface no one would ever make the connection between the two, but under the hood you can see that the creator of
Scandal is more or less paying homage to the series. Don't be misled here, there is no
Jack Bauer running around and torturing people or hunting down terrorist to stop a bomb from going off. But the energy is there that keeps both shows moving forward, never letting up. But then again, there is a lot of Black Ops / Assassins stuff in the show that would make
Jack Bauer feel right at home here.
Never in a million years would I have thought this would be what
Scandal would morph into. It's awesome. I want to say more, but to do that would seriously undermine those that have yet to experience this amazing show the joy of seeing it unfold firsthand. Definitely stay away from spoilers elsewhere. Love the series and love Season 2. I can't wait to for
Season 3 to get rolling. I will say that the characters that make up
Pope's little "firm" are very unique and fascinating to watch, especially that of
Huck who is basically like
Dexter in a way. Even more fascinating to watch is
Quinn, who is being trained in
Huck's profession and is enjoying it a little too much, which doesn't match up with her squeaky clean looks. Yes, by all means
BUY this and add to your personal DVD Library. I know I will. This season gets the very rare
10 Star bump.
Oh, and the Cliffhanger that plays out was one HUGE, MOTHERF*CKER of a CLIFFHANGER! I did NOT see that coming at all!! Wow! It will leave you going "Holy sh*t"! and counting the days for
Season 3 to start. And guess what, I'm counting................
One downside to the season was the exit of
Henry Ian Cusick before the season began. There was no swan song episode as he was written off the show prior to the premiere and was only mentioned once in passing. Bummer.
