Speed: Five Star Collection

Trailer

Gawd, I love this movie. How much do I? Well, when I saw it on opening day in the theater, I got such an incredible rush from the movie that I actually went back the next day and paid to see it again. That does not happen often. I can count on one hand how many times I have done that. Usually I see a movie once, and if I like it enough I will see it again....maybe a month or two after, but never back to back days.

Speed STILL has me by the balls, no matter how many times I have seen the movie since then. Keanu Reeves is badass, in spite of people knocking his acting as wooden. He does a great job here and all you naysayers can move along. But for me the biggest bonus was falling madly in love with Sandra Bullock for the first time. She was and still is adorable here, which made me seriously contemplate taking the Bus everywhere.  One of the best things going for the movie is it's pacing. There really isn't any downtime at all from the opening to the last frame. So many great action Set Pieces throughout the move to thrill and entertain anyone that's a fan of the genre. The best of course being the Bus Jump over the gap and the Bus exploding into the Plane. Sh*t man, that explosion seems to get bigger and bigger every time I watch the movie.

Props to Dennis Hopper, Alan Ruck and Joe Morgan. This is definitely a Buy and I recommend this to everyone.

You’re on a roll. Picking out solid entertaining movies. Yea, some are just brain candy, but I love this kind of stuff. Meryl Streep movies can blow me. I think Reeves wooden acting is perfect for this part. Just like Neo for the Matrix (not at all for The Day The Earth Stood Still). Sandra Bullock is the perfect girl next door and the Hopper as the bad guy. Over the top and perfect. I will watch this each and every time it’s on.

I see the Academy giving her an honorary Oscar for that. But like most of her films, no one will see it.
