After all these years, I finally got around to checking out Step Brothers and was in for a big surprise. It's a Will Ferrell / Adam McKay production, so I knew exactly what I was getting into because of their distinctive style of comedy that they both feed off of. I'm very surprised at how much I like Step Brothers, because I went into this with very low expectations. The movie is way funnier than it has any right to be, but most importantly, the on screen chemistry between Ferrell and John C. Riley is pitch perfect. They are damn funny together as both sibling rivals and as partners in crime. But the thing that I think sets this apart from your typical Ferrell / McKay partnership is that Step Brothers has something going for it other than 'dick and fart' jokes, which this has plenty of. The movie is very likable and has got heart to go along with the laughs. Hard to believe, I know.

This is definitely worth a Rent if you are in the mood for some serious laughs that will give you a work out. A lot of sight gags in this one had me laughing. Loved the 'Sleep Walking' bit. Very funny stuff. Great cast as well, which includes Mary Steenburgen and Adam Scott. Go check it out.

I don't know what possessed me to watch this, but dammit, it was funny. The only Ferrell movie I have watched all the way through.
