I have no idea what the perception is regarding
Spectre from the masses, but having just finished watching this flick, I think it's time to once and for all bury the franchise. It's kind of sad that it has to come to this given that it wasn't all that long ago when
C a s i n o Royale seemed to have given both the character and the series a much-needed shot in the arm. And here we are, just 3 films since then and we are back to that tired, boring and all too predictable by-the-numbers
Bond Formula. I don't hate
Spectre, but I'm certainly not keen to ever watch this again. It may look great visually, but as a story it's pretty f*cking thin and on top of that, the Set Pieces were some of the most unimaginative I've ever witness in a
Bond flick. Not once did I ever feel like it lived up to the name of
007. Usually when a story or plot is stretched beyond my patience, I always had creative stunt work to look forward to keep me entertained. Dull is the word that comes to mind. Not sure if it's worth recommending at all. Even the idea of
Christoph Waltz as
Ernst Stavro Blofeld isn't enough to save the flick. I now understand why
Daniel Craig is sick of the character and has gone on record saying he doesn't want to ever do another Bond flick again. It shows.
Rent....or not.
