Snatch.
Special Edition

Trailer

If you are a fan of the gangster underworld, especially that of Pulp Fiction, you are sure to dig Snatch. But unlike Pulp Fiction and other films in the same genre, Snatch. plays up the humor as much as possible without it derailing the gritty world it populates. Jason Statham may get top billing, but he is not the star. I don't even have to tell you who is the one that carries the film, but for the sake of argument, I'll do so anyway. Brad Pitt OWNS this from start to finish. I remember when the trailer first hit the big screen and how they played up the fact that his character was unintelligible x;s 1000 and everyone in the theater LOVED it.

Anyone that has ever sh*t on the idea of Subtitles or Closed Caption will come to view the service as a God-send while watching this movie. Without the service, I seriously doubt ANYONE would be able to understand anything in the movie at all. Not just Brad's character....but all the characters speak in a thick dialect that subtitles is an absolute must to be able to follow along with what is being said.

As for the movie, it's a pretty heist caper as everyone is on the hunt for a 84 Karat diamond. There are so many twist and turns that at times it can shake a person that isn't use to this type of narrative. For me, I feed off complex writing and Guy Ritchie does a great job. A couple of standout scenes for me. First is the first scene itself. Loved the style and editing that is used to tell the story. Second, loved the final scene which basically sets up that the story will go full circle....again. This is a DVD I've owned for years. I don't see myself parting with it anytime soon. Definitely a Buy.

Dennis Farina, Vinnie Jones, Stephen Graham and Benicio del Toro co-star in the film.
