The 100 (Season 2 - 2014 / 2015)

Trailer

I've waited impatiently for the past 6 months for my Library to get a copy of Season 2 of The 100 on DVD and it killed it. Literally. I loved Season 1 and as much as I was looking forward to the followup, I was hard pressed to believe that it could outdo its rookie season. Not only does Season 2 match Season 1, it f*cking obliterates it to the point of making it look tame by comparison. Well, Season 1 still rocks, but you get the idea by my analogy. Season 2 is an absolute much-watch. Where do I begin? As I mentioned in my review for Season 1, there are parts that are very reminiscent of Lost. Well, this season relies heavily on Lost in such a way that it almost felt like a homage of sorts. The Acid Fog is basically the Smoke Monster and the people of Mount Weather are the "Others", both of which live an idyllic life with all the creature comforts that most societies have. Well, up to a point.

That's where things get really f*cked up with what is happening inside the Mountain. At times it's brutal to see people being drained of blood in order to "save" the Mountain Men, Women and Children. This whole bunker is also reminiscent of the Hatch. All that was missing was Desmond. Oh, wait, Henry Ian Cusick is on the show. Duh! The main plot of this season is Clarke finding a way out of the Bunker with the intent of returning to rescue her people that she left behind and that's where the fun really kicks in, especially with the 'Sky People' making an uneasy alliance with the Grounders. With them now joined at the hip, the overall arc for Clarke is having to make the hard choices that are needed to keep her people alive and what transpires is fascinating to watch and gut wrenching to see because you know she is slowly losing herself with each choice that she makes that takes another life. There is one main character that she sacrificed that was truly shocking to see. I won't say more other than this, the ending completely turns the series on it's head...again. What the f*ck! I can't wait for Season 3 to start in 2 weeks. Bring it on! I highly recommend Season 2 as a Buy. Now I'm gonna go watch the Bonus content that's on the DVD which as the Comic Con Panel. I'll probably hit that first.

Not gonna start a new thread on The 100. Just gotta post at just how awful this show is now. Even though I didn't post anything on Season 3,4 and 5, I still stuck with it. It's been awhile, but I remember Season 3 being good, Season 4 less so and Season 5 was about the same. It had its faults, but it also had some pretty cool stuff happening. But Season 6 (this season) is AWFUL. Pure GARBAGE. I don't know what they are doing or what they are thinking, but this is sh*t, no matter how you cut it. This whole Primes and implanting memories into "willing" humans to prolong their lives is just stupid. What was once a killer, kickass series resembles NOTHING it once was. Makes perfect sense that Henry Ian Cusick wanted out. Sure, he may have a new series, but I truly believe series or no series, he would have bailed on this POS show. But my breaking point was that they put "Kane" into the body of another so that they could keep the character if not the actor. Bridge too far.

I still stand firm that this show is now complete garbage, but at least the writers/creator of the series was smart enough to not move forward with the whole body swap of Kane. THIS really irked me last week when I watched the episode. Well, in the latest episode, they ended this whole absurd plot and actually gave Henry Ian Cusick the hero's send off his character deserved. I've never been more happier to see a character floated out into space. Not because I hated the character. Far from it. He was actually the best thing about the series. Just happy they gave him his swan song moment.
