The 6th Day
Special Edition

Trailer

This is the first time I've watched The 6th Day since I Blind-Bought  the dvd when it first came out. So, I'm guessing it was a year after it came out before it hit dvd. I remembered nothing about the movie from then. Didn't remember who was in the movie, other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Didn't remember any of the scenes that took place. Didn't even remember the plot, other than that there were two Arnie's. The only thing I rememgbered from my initial viewing of the movie is that I was very disappointed and thought it was one of the weakest movies of his.

So, did my opinion change at all watching it tonight? Not really. I was somewhat more receptive this time around. Even though it was kind of hokey with some cheesy special fx and bad acting, it was entertaining for the most part. That is until the 3rd Act kicked in. That's when it became very boring, predictable and just not good. So, this was "good" for the first 2/3 of the movie and then it just derails into typical sci-fi crap that doesn't hand out anything worth remembering at the end.

This isn't entirely bad. It's not great either. Very middle of the road. I'm just not a fan of movies that rely on actors acting opposite of themselves. It's why I hate Double Impact with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Bad acting by 1 Damme is enough, but 2 of 'em? At least Arnie is a bit better here....but not by much. At times he did seem like he was sleepwalking through the movie. I say Skip this one, even though I am giving this movie a veeeeeeery gerenrous 2 1/2 Stars.

The only thing I remember is that the story was so weak (don't remember the story), that you could concentrate Arnies bad acting, only making it worse.

Haven't seen this movie in years but doesn't Bob Picardo reprise his role as the Johnnycab from Total Recall?  Actually, there are a couple moments in that first act that feel Recall, just "Re-Pet."

The entire movie is basically a low-rent version of Total Recall.
