L.A. Confidential - Special Edition

Trailer

Who would have ever guessed that all you needed was a kick-ass story, a smart script, a director that knows his  s h i t , a few name actors and a couple of no-name actors to create one of the best movies ever made. L.A. Confidential for me ranks right up there with my personal favorites and is better than what many people consider to be the best ever: Citizen Cane and Casablanca, and I like those movies, so what does that tell ya? I would put L.A. Confidential at #4 in my Top 10 movies of all time.

A little interesting fun fact here. When I got my first DVD player within a year or so after it first hit the marketplace, my first choice in what DVD to get was of course Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Unfortunately they didn't have any more copies so I had to look for another title to grab and was thrilled to see that they had a copy of L.A. Confidential as I was already a fan of the movie from when it came out in the theater. So, this was my first DVD and I still have the same copy to this day.

I didn't think I'd ever see another complete picture like that of The Shawshank Redemption, but in just under 3 years, the people behind L.A. Confidential turned out such an amazing film and it's one that I always find something new and different about it each time I watch it. I didn't know who Guy Pearce or Rusell Crowe were at the time, but I knew that both, especially Crowe would become HUGE Hollywood stars. Boy, did I ever call that one. The entire cast is stellar and each brought something unique to their roles. Kevin Spacey, James Cromwell, Danny Devito and the lusicious Kim Basinger, who has never looked more radiant and amazing as she does here all brought their A-Game.

I can't say enough good things about this film. If you want a smart mystery, with talented actors delivering their lines with ease and something amazing to look at with its gorgeous cinematography and a musical score that's every bit as perfect as what your seeing on the screen, then this is the one to get. I highly recommend this as a Buy.

Love Confidential. It's been awhile for me. Watching Guy Pierce, you knew he was going places.

Again, it's about good, smart scripts. Everything else needs to follow, but this could hardly fail.
