Garden State

Trailer

Garden State has been on my radar for 10 f*cking years and I've finally found the time to actually sit down and watch it. Over the years, the movie has taken on a life of it's own. I've heard nothing but raves about Zach Braff's writing and directorial debut. I don't think I've ever heard a single bad thing about the movie at all. So, this has been built up pretty high over the course of 10 years and that's not a good thing. I dug the movie. It's a good character driven movie where Braff's character heads back home and reconnects with his odd, weird and weirder friends and along the way falls in love with Natalie Portman's character. There is a very thin plot to get him to return home. Once back, it's more about him just trying to adjust to his surroundings. As I said, it's a good film, but for me it's not the be all/end all of movies. I would definitely watch it again if I came across it on cable TV. Worth a Rent.
