Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle - Extreme Unrated

Trailer

When you decide to sit down and watch a Stoner comedy, you know going in that the movie is going to be aiming for the lowest common denominator with the viewing audience. Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle is what it is, a series of dick and fart jokes. That and getting high. I wasn't expecting much from this one and sure enough, it was a pretty average movie. There are some funny moments, but there really was no pay off other than finally reaching their destination of White Castle. The biggest draw for this one was of course Neil Patrick Harris playing a stylize version of himself. But what saves this movie for the most part are the lead actors John Cho and Kal Penn.

They do have strong chemistry on screen together and I can see why they are immensely popular and how they have manage to spawn two sequels in the franchise. I just wish that the writer had done a better job with the script instead of writing a series of random scenes just for the sake of putting them in crazy situations. Yes, I know, it's a Stoner Comedy, but give me something a little bit different.

This is a Rent if you're looking for lowbrow humor and nothing too deep as far as character arcs are concerned. It's Cheech and Chong for the new generation.

Agree... A rent. I do remember enjoying it, but don't remember a thing about it. Throw away movies for what it is.
