The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

After blasting the piece of sh*t that is Insurgent and condemning the whole Tween-Flick phenomenon, I totally forgot that I also had The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 waiting for me after the fact. The only upside to The Hunger Games is that the first two flicks were entertaining enough and had Jennifer Lawrence leading the way. With that said, I dreaded putting in Part 1 because I knew it was just going to be an endless cycle of nothing happening. That's the biggest problem I have with Studio's breaking up movies for the sole purpose of doubling their ticket sales. Nothing can happen. By its very nature it has to be....nothing, in order to kick off the final installment. It literally tales 45 minutes before anything resembling an action set piece happens in Part 1 and that only lasted a couple of minutes with only one arrow fired by Katniss. The other "action set piece" was sending in a Retrieval Team to get Peeta out of the Capitol. That's it. All the other scenes were about crying, regret, recruitment and making Propaganda films. Jennifer was good and did her best to carry the flick, but this series demands action pieces, especially seeing Katniss in action. So, worth a Rent only for those that have already investigated time in the first two flicks. At least Part 1 wasn't bad unlike most other Tween-Flicks. Just wanted more than what we were allowed to get because of the studio. And they get 0 Stars for that alone.
