The New Guy

Trailer

The New Guy is a who's who of Rock cameos as well as a few notable faces. It seems like everyone from Gene Simmons to Vanilla Ice to Henry Rollins to David Hasselhoff to Tony Hawk is in this High School farce that owes a big debt to the much better and far superior Can't Buy Me Love. With Dizzy (DJ Qualls) looking to start fresh at another School with a new persona, he ends up changing the other students for the better only to have his secret come out at the end that he was the lowest on the totem pole at his previous school. It's not original and the movie itself at times is just ridiculous. Having said that, there are still some fun moments and the soundtrack goes a long way to making it decent. Also, having Eliza Dushku and Zooey Deschanel goes a long way to easing the pain that this movie would sure bring if they weren't involved.

Definitely worth a Rent if you want some mindless fun.
