Boys and Girls

Boys and Girls refers to the division (for the day) between both sexes in the work place. Jan has a 'girls only' meeting and this doesn't sit well with Michael, who in turns decides to have a 'boys only' meeting. Neither meeting goes well. The girls want to stick with gossip talk and put each other day and the boys decide that unionizing the branch is their best way to utilize their time. Some funny moments, especially with Michael using the forklift to move stuff. Nothing but chaos. Pam and Jim have their first little tiff when he questions Pam about not pursuing an art career because Roy doesn't want her to do it.

The inside joke about Hasselhoff directed toward Michael was by far the funniest moment in the show. It still cracks me up all these years later. I wonder if the man himself has ever seen this particular episode and gotten a laugh out of it.

Valentine's Day

The best thing about this episode is the unexpected ending. Every since Jan and Michael hooked up earlier in the season, she has constantly resisted and resented Michael for even implying they were ever a couple and even the bulk of this episode was more of the same. So it comes as a complete shock that when she thinks their is no cameras around, to lay a big wet one on an even more shocked Michael. The other things that went down on this one is Kelly revealing to Jim and she and Ryan hooked up. Meredith passing out drunk at her desk, Phyllis getting flowers and bears delivered to her all day, Dwight getting a bobble head of himself from Angela and Pam getting PO'd that she hasn't gotten anything.

Conan O'Brien cameo ftw!

Dwight's Speech

This is all about Dwight's fear of public speaking which kinda doesn't make sense given the fact that he has never had any problem telling anyone, inside and out of the Office what is on his mind. Anyway, Jim seizes the opportunity to set Dwight up to fail again by teaching him Public Speaking 101, which consist of waving one's arms a lot and pounding things to emphasize points you are making. The payoff doesn't come till the end when Dwight is actually making his speech. As is the case with Michael, he is delusional about his own public speaking abilities, which suck, which makes for a very funny moment. Good episode.

Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Good episode that kinda makes Michael look even sadder when he decides to show the kids in the Office that he was a "star" of Fundle Bundle. It's gotta suck when the little girl Sasha calls him out and points out that he didn't achieve his childhood dream of "getting married, having 100 kids so that he could have 100 friends...." Ouch, that's gotta sting.

Michael's Birthday

Michael's Birthday ends up being more about Kevin and whether or not he has skin cancer, which obviously does not sit well with Michael and the lack of attention he is getting. You would think this would be somewhat depressing, but it offers plenty of awkward laughs as he try's to navigate around the situation. I thought his reaction to hearing the "bad news" from Kevin that it was 'negative' was very funny and makes a lot of sense in how it's reversed when it comes to giving out good / bad news. The scenes with Jim and Pam shopping was another winner, especially when Pam gets her 'nerd' on and does her Darth Vader impression.

Drug Testing

The sight of Dwight in his "costume" as a volunteer Deputy always cracks me up. The way he runs his investigation and his interrogation methods of his co-workers is priceless. This episode is all Rainn Wilson and is just as funny watching it for the 100th time as it is the first time. Jim's impersonation of Stanley ROCKED! Very funny and very spot-on.

Conflict Resolution

I think my favorite part of this kick ass episode is hearing about all the pranks that Jim pulled on Dwight that he complained to Toby about. They are so good that I wished we actually got to see them in full instead of just hearing about it. The whole photo ID arc was funny as well, especially the end with them trying to get a group picture, only to settle for a poorly photo shopped version of the image in question. This episode is definitely Win-Win-Win.

C a s i n o  Night

There are a lot of amazing episodes throughout the run of The Office, and this ranks right up there in the Top 3 of all time. I still need to sort out my Top 10 Greatest episodes of The Office so that I can put them all into context. So, why does this rank so high? For starters, Steve Carell did a great job writing the script. He gave everyone a little moment to shine here and it delivered. Also, there are some very memorable scenes and situations that happen in this one. You have Michael trying to juggle two dates on C a s i n o  Night when Jan and Carole show up. You have Creed stealing everything within reach which made for some funny moments and of course you have Jim finally telling Pam how he feels about her.....and getting crushed in the process. But instead of leaving the viewer hanging on that till next season, 5 minutes later they share their first kiss and then there is silence, which is the perfect way to leave on a cliffhanger.

Kevin as a poker 'pro' getting beat by Phyllis is priceless. When he says into the camera "I suck", that was the cherry on top.

The Office (Season 2)

I highly recommend this as a Buy. This is where the series really came into it's own and put the UK version behind them and created something original and one to be proud of. Some great episodes can be found in Season 2. This is one of my favorite Office seasons ever. It never disappoints and always puts a smile on my face. This Set also has the single greatest Blooper Reel you will ever find and is by far the funniest one on any of The Office DVD's Set.
